Recently we have been taking part in a project all about pollution and its effects on the local environment. Today we went out into the local park to look for different kinds of Lichen. We needed to use our magnifying glasses to carefully look on all of the trees and plants and identify which kind of Lichen it might have been!
If there is a high amount of Lichen on the trees and plants, what does this tell us about pollution in the area? Why does Lichen like living in these areas?

There are diffrent type of lichen which are nitrogen loving which helps are air better there is intermediate that I'm not sure about, then there is nitrogen sensetive which is really bad because that shows how bad your air is so it depends on how good the air is in the area.
